Stopping and smelling the Terra Nova
Walking outdoors in the first scorching heat filled afternoon in what seems to be a long cold weather season (Can't believe it's almost March!), I pass by the overgrown university soccer field and a smile starts to curl out of the corners of my mouth. The scent of the minty blades of grass and the unmistakable Manila bay breeze gave me a sense of what I shall be missing... a really great tropical summer heat wave! Am leaving Manila on Friday and it's these little brushes with nature that make me trully appreciate my home sweet home. Then just as the sentimental BS starts to cloud my mind I begin to smell the Terra Nova being used by the maintenance custodians to make the marble on the school corridors shine! Ha! What a way to kill a moment.
