Sitting in a corner

Ho Chi Minh City
My head aches. I know I should just close my eyes and go to sleep. But the throbbing pain also reminds me that I need to stay awake. That's what coffee is for right? And the creamy mocha flavor... now that's just so I can have a more pleasant sugar rush.
The lady working the juicer behind the counter ditracts me. She is shredding carrots with the machine. Her right hand carefully holds the vegetable in an upright position then methodically plummets it down the juicer hole. But her movements are not what causes the distraction. It's the plastic plunger device she holds firmly with her left hand. The one that looks like a sex toy. Plunging fat orange carrots into the one-way hole. Crushing them to a pulp. And what makes the visual more hillarious is that no one else notices. Just me, here sitting in a corner. And unlike the rest of the temporariry tennants in this cafe... I'm drinking a guava smoothie.
