I saw, I heard, I bought the CD!

ANTIGONE RISING

The all female acoustic rock band from Greenwich Village takes angry chick music to a totally new level- one that includes redemption and hope. Not since the Indigo Girls' Swamp Ophelia have I gone crazy over another guitar-riffing, vocal-wailing, soul-aching female musical act.

I saw them first on VH-1s Listen Up show last June 1. Needless to say I rushed to the nearest Starbucks and got their Hear Music Debut CD entitled FROM THE GROUND UP. The 14-track album features the live recording of their performance at the Sony Sound Studios in NYC in the winter of 2004. Check them out at www.antigonerising.com

I’ve just gone through the whole album I’m still shaking in my skin. Track 9- Don’t Look Back co-written by Rob Thomas definitely hits the mark. So is Track 14 a song about finding your inner diamond and makes you realize no matter what you’ve gone through you cannot be- Broken. And as if I’m not already sad about losing my friend Reyster Langit last June 3 to cerebral malaria, Track 5- Michael has these lines to make me cry again
