Cabin Fever2
The houseguests (who stayed for a week) were a fabulous distraction yes but they aslo brought germs and such that sort of decided to stay behind after they left. Now all of us are sick! That's it! I've had it with the indoor life. I definitely know what it is I can do or cannot do. *SNIF* Let's have a quick rundown shall we? I can live without ever learning how to drive... but I cannot live in a place without public transport to the nearest cineplex! I can live without having to go to the beauty parlor and spa... but I cannot live without getting my hair blown by the wind! I can live without having to see another reality show, but I cannot live without having my own reality lived in the great outdoors!
Cabin Fever
It's supposed to be spring so why is it still cold? I hate being cooped up indoors it gives my cellulite time to settle in. Can't drive either so I really cant go to the nearest cineplex to watch a movie! I arrived here Oscars week and I haven't seen any of the featured films! Arrgghhh! Then there are house guests for a week! The worst thing that could happen! I need to breathe!
Logging Off
Being away for about two weeks now, no family to bug me, no friends to hang out with, no work to keep me busy and not getting to sleep in my bed can be a sure fire formula for homesickness. But not for me! I guess I’m used to traveling and uprooting myself for work and as a cure for boredom or healing that I hardly feel saddened by being away. And so lately I find myself logging off to the rest of humanity. That is so to speak to my immediate circle (cyber circle in this light). It’s hard to imagine really, logging in as invisible in YM, not checking mails on a daily basis or updating my Friendster and blogsite. Its not that I’m deprived or anything (my nephew gives me a 2 hour lunch break) nor is my social calendar filled to the brim (mall, publix, yard, mall, publix, yard…). Don’t know what’s gotten into me I should be online more often to see how things are with everyone else, but… hmmm I dunno. I wonder how things will work out for the next couple of weeks. For those of you still keeping tabs on me, don’t worry I will get and respond to your messages eventually.
So who ends up with Dawson?
Ah the joys of staying at home with Comcast cable! I get to watch two (count them two!) reruns of Dawson’s Creek on weekdays! I recall a spoof shirt I saw in ATC before coming over here that said “Dawson’s a Creep.” Well I don’t think that’s a fair line... although I do admit to being a Pacey fan myself (Obbie if your’re reading this don’t deny it ikaw rin!). I’m currently catching the second season where Pacey and Joey start to get close. Pacey just started to fix his boat “True Love” and things will heat up between them before the season finale when Dawson and Pacey denounce their lifelong friendship and Joey goes sailing with Pacey for the summer. The last time I was here I watched marathons of the show on TBS and I know the ending! Makes you think… you get a show with your name on it but in the end you don’t get the girl, instead you get a career in Hollywood! No wonder I love this show, makes me hopeful that even if I don’t fall in love by the time I get cancelled, I’ll still make it out of the Creek alive!

Today my nephew and I picked dried leaves in the yard. As I watched his frustration and fascination at how his tiny hands could cause the object he was holding to crumble I saw how this innocent 2 year old pointed out to me a very simple lesson. Never try to hold on to anything (including people) with a tight clenched fist because no matter how good your intentions are at keeping it, it will slip out from you and be blown away by the last remaining cold winds of winter and will never see the hope that is spring.

There was an old woman who rode a plane.
The hours were so long she couldn't remember her name.
As the day turned to night and back again,
She kept walking down the aisle thinking they all looked the same.
Twice I helped her locate her seat,
Sensing her heart to weak, it may have skipped a beat!
At the terminal I encountered her once again,
Walking into the men’s toilet to relieve something she couldn’t contain.
Helping her find the right direction,
She smiled and thanked my intervention.
And as I said goodbye to Lola she asked what pasalubong I wanted.
I said none… but as thanks could a kiss to my check be granted?
